get to know me and the firm
ABOUT THE FIRM
Here at The Law Office of Norell S. Manning, I am ready to help you plan for the future. Whether you are ready to create your estate plan or have no clue where to start, I am here to guide you.
A proper estate plan gives you the peace of mind to know that your wishes are in writing and that your family will have everything they need to care for your legacy. An estate plan can be as simple as a directive detailing your medical wishes if you need care and cannot speak for yourself, or it can include multiple documents that detail everything from the distribution of your accounts down to who takes care of your pets when you pass away.
I decided to open my law firm after working for other firms over the past 7 years and seeing the disparity in access to estate planning tools. To often clients are forced to sacrifice quality and customization for affordability. For too long one-on-one estate planning has been reserved for the wealthy.
I designed my firm so that no matter if your net worth is $50,000 or $5 million dollars you can have a quality estate plan that has been drafted just for you.
I look forward to helping you create an estate plan that makes sense for your life and your legacy.
ABOUT ME
Personal Life
I grew up in a working class family in New Jersey and Delaware; my father is a disabled Army veteran and my mother worked in administrative and retail roles before retiring. I am the youngest of 4 siblings (2 brothers and 1 sister) and the fun aunt to 7 nibblings and a fur niece.
Growing up the only thing I knew about estate planning was what I learned about trust funds from watching Saved by the Bell and The Nanny. As I got older, I experienced firsthand what poor planning can do to a family. I watched my family struggle to make plans for a loved one and distribute their estate because everyone had a different idea as to what they believed the person wanted. I discovered a few documents can ease the burden on grieving family (both bio and chosen).
Education and Career
I received my Bachelor’s Degree in English from the University of Delaware, and an MBA with a specialization in Project and Team Management from Full Sail University. I graduated Cum Laude from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego where I was an active member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution team and Vice President of the Business Law Society.
I have been recognized by the San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program for my volunteer legal work assisting victims of domestic violence. In my free time I enjoy volunteering with organizations that provide legal assistance to the indigent and disenfranchised communities. When I am not working or volunteering, I enjoy baking – I love adapting traditional recipes into plant-based goodies (lemon bars and Hummingbird cake are my specialties).
